Teodoro Sosa, alcalde de G\u00e1ldar, firm\u00f3 la compra del terreno, clasificado como dotaci\u00f3n cultural en el Plan General de Ordenaci\u00f3n del municipio. El solar, utilizado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os para rodajes cinematogr\u00e1ficos, se convertir\u00e1 en un espacio de recepci\u00f3n previo al acceso a la Cantera, que se encuentra en un t\u00fanel enterrado.
